Green-Cheeked Conure

Yellow-Sided Variation
This is a common species of of pet bird and for good reason: they are playful, affectionate, and smart. While one of the quietest conures (but still pretty loud), they can learn to speak with a limited vocabulary while also being able to learn tricks, such as being potty-trained. They are typically around 10 inches in height and 70 grams in weight.

Parrotlets

This is a bird that is typically around 30 grams in weight and 5 inches in height. They tend to be feisty, affectionate, and willful. Due to their feisty nature, they should be housed separately from other birds of the same and different species to prevent injury or death. Parrotlets can also form lifelong pairs with their mate, called bonded pairs, but aggression can still occur between them.

These birds are highly intelligent and social birds with the ability to learn human speech. However, they are listed as an invasive species, making their sale and ownership illegal in the following U.S. states: California, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Connecticut, New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island have specific requirements on the ownership and sale of Quaker parrots, so please look up your state laws before considering the purchase of a quaker parrot.
